About the Server

Right now everything runs on a single VPS from x10vps. We run Ubuntu linux 9.10 Karmic Koala.

UnrealIRCd 3.2.8.1with extra modules:

  • nocolorumode: this adds the user mode +c, which works just like the channel mode +S; it strips all incoming color and formatting codes for you.
  • netadmins: Extra protection for netadmins. Helps prevent power abuse.
  • svsmkick: For services only. Mass kick all users from a channel.
  • gqline: global qline. A qline is a nick ban.
  • sendraw: allows ircops to send fake message from nonexistent users. Mostly used for the now-defunct twitter bot.
  • chgswhois: Now replaced by the services module. Allows staff members to set a swhois (secure whois) line on users.
  • uline: allows users to be given u:lines, or services status. Used exclusively for authorized staff bots.
  • hostforward: Adds an extban ~f, which forwards the banned user into another channel. Use it as such: /mode #blah +b ~f:#lobby:nick!ident@host. When nick!ident@host tries to join #blah, they will instead be forced to join #lobby.
  • securequery: Only available to users on a secure (ssl) connection. If you have the usermode +Z set, only users on a secure connection will be able to send you a private message.

We run Anope 1.8.4 with custom-named services bots. Your old aliases will still work, however—we have forwarders set up for the default names, and your aliases (/ns) still work.

  • NickServ is known as Librarian

Anope also has a couple dozen modules loaded.

  • bs_autoassign: Automatically assign a services bot to newly registered channels. If you don’t want this bot, you can change it with /bs botlist and /bs assign #channel botnick.
  • bs_fantasy_tb: This is a botserv fantasy command that allows you to type !tb nick time(:in minutes) [reason:optional]
  • cs_appendtopic: gives you the append command to chanserv. To use, /cs append #channel blah, and blah will be added to the end of your channel topic.
  • cs_enforce: Add a /cs ENFORCE command to enforce various set options and channelmodes on a channel.
  • cs_accessfounder
  • cs_access_notice: Sends you a notice or memo when your access is modified on a channel
  • cs_autolimit
  • Dagon: Dagon is a services bot that was hard-coded by Efreak to sit in official RecalledToIRC channels.
  • hs_request: You can request custom vhosts from hostserv. Please keep it appropriate if you’re going to be in public channels.
  • ircd_community_info: information for recalledtoirc staff members
  • ircd_chanurl: If you assign a URL to your channel with services, it will be shown as a numeric whenever someone joins your channel
  • ms_chanowner: allows staff members to send a memo to all channel owners at once.
  • ns_saregister: Allows staff members to register a nickname without switching to it first.
  • ns_greetoper: RecalledToIRC staff members will always get a greeting from the bot in a registered channel, so long as they have one defined.
  • ns_setnoop: new command /ns set noop. When ns_noop is on for your nickname, other people will NOT be able to add you to channel access lists.
  • ns_totaltime: nickserv keeps track of the total amount of time you spend logged into your nickname. When you (or someone else) uses /ns info on you, it tells how long you’ve been on for.
  • os_info: allows staff members to see extra info and notes that other staff members have made on users
  • os_pseudo_cont: allows staff members to create services pseudoclients, and join them to other channels.
  • os_statsonid: staff members get a network status report when they log into nickserv.
  • os_chgswhois: allows staff members to change a user’s current swhois for their current session.
  • os_swhois: Allows staff members to give users a persistent swhois. If you’d like one of these, go ahead and ask us! It will be applied whenever you log into services.

We run Denora Stats and the phpDenora web frontend.

Denora is a server for Network Admins that connects to your IRC network and acts as a service, collecting statistical information about your servers, channels and users. Denora exports this information to MySQL, HTML, XML and flatfile databases, allowing you and your users to get a comprehensive and complete overview of your IRC network.

phpDenora is the Web Frontend to the Denora Stats Server and provides a complete, nice looking and solid Interface featuring detailed network, channel and user statistics, graphical outputs, multilanguage and template systems, all by following modern web standards.

If you want to show advanced stats for your channel (client version, country, etc), either tell a staff member or send Efreak a memo. To hide your channel from Denora Stats completely, please either set mode +s or +p on it, or tell us and we’ll tell phpdenora not to show it in the lists.

RPGServ is our gameservirc bot.

A multiplayer RPG that connects as a psuedo server to an IRCD. Built in the tradition of old BBS Door games such as LORD. Forest fights add experience and gold needed to best your master.
